A child pornography complaint at a Cole Harbour high school has led the Mounties to begin an investigation.
The Halifax District School Board says a girl at Auburn Ddrive High complained to staff that Wednesday that a boy was sharing a photo of her with his friends without her consent. Staff spoke with the student and confirmed that he did it.
Staff told the school’s liaison officer, and now RCMP are on the case.
The school spoke with the parents of both students as well as a number of other students who may have received the photo.
“There are definitely consequences for the individual who shared the photo without consent,” reads a statement from the School Board. “The action would be considered severely disruptive behaviour in the school’s code of conduct. The range of consequences is outlined in the code of conduct.”
